Dividing Fractions with Number Line

Dividing 3/4 ÷ 2/3 is like finding how many segments of length 2/3 are in 3/4. Notice that 2/3 goes into 3/4 one full time, with some amount left over. Set the interval on the number line to the common denominator of twelfths and notice that the amount left over is 1/8 of another time. So 3/4 ÷ 2/3 equals 1 1/8. Try dividing other fractions and see that the result can always be found by inverting the second fraction and multiplying.
